In Russell we got to enjoy some local brews from the surrounding area. 

Waikato Draught  🍺🍺🍺🍺

Lion Beer Group (Australia and New Zealand) Bitters hold a special place in my heart. The first one I got Liz stole because what she got wasn’t good (a Guinness Draught, which didn’t travel well). 

Zeffer Cider  🍺🍺🍺

Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand 🇳🇿  They usually have a couple of ciders on draft too. This one was very nice. 

Bay of Islands Brewery

Northland, New Zealand 🇳🇿 

Schwartz 🍺🍺🍺

Kororareka Cream  🍺🍺🍺🍺

These beers were from the pub in our hotel. Very tasty!  They really hit the spot after a long day doing the tourist thing. 

Phat Brewery

Haruru, New Zealand. Acid House Sour  🍺🍺🍺🍺. This was an awesome fruit sour beer produced very near to Russell.

Lion Brewery Group. Lion brewery product are found in lots of locations.  Nothing special to see here. But not bad at all.

Ranfurly Draught 🍺🍺

Asahi Beverages Ltd. A good beer got on the cheap from the supermarket. This beer is 4% ABV. Most beers in NZ tend to be on the lower alcohol side. 

Cucumber Dill Pickle Sour  🍺🍺🍺

Garage Project, Wellington  We have purchased this by popular demand from State side. Actually it’s very tasty!  Strong smell of cucumber but not an over powering taste. 

The Brewers Co-Operative in Auckland 

A delightful pub in Auckland to introduce you to all sorts of NZ beers from smaller breweries and have some snacks!  We sampled a few beers and had some snacks which included wings, popcorn shrimp, and jalapeño poppers. 

Karamu Barrelworks. 🍺🍺🍺

Hamilton, NZ. Made by a little old man in his garage!

Isthmus Gone Troppo. 🍺🍺🍺🍺. Passion fruit and mango sour. We killed the keg on this one and got a bonus glass free!  

Sawmill Hazy IPA 🍺🍺🍺. Adrian the bartender gave us a taster of this one. Very light IPA. Even those who don’t like IPAs can drink this one. 

DNA Brewing 

Hazy Haitian IPA  🍺🍺🍺. Very nice IPA. Not too strong of flavor profile or bitterness.

Strong Operator 

Cream Ale  🍺🍺🍺. Coconut, honey and vanilla!  Quite the flavor for a cream ale. Must be a mad brewer at work.
