Dunedin DONSA

Another slow start to the day of rest. Jim and I went downstairs for breakfast. Jim ordered the full Monty breakfast, while I ordered the pork dumplings. The dumplings came with a salad. I was suitably impressed.

After breakfast we hurried upstairs as we had a dinner to attend in Gainesville, Ga. Q was being his cute self and after dinner he showed us how he climbs up the stairs!

The rain had sort of petered off, so we grabbed Dotty and headed towards the Early Settlers Museum. It was so fascinating. A mixture of Māori and the Scots who settled the island. The museum has a scavenger hunt for children to keep them interested in all the exhibits. Once you find the exhibit, you have to write the decade it was used or created. There was a little rounding involved! Dotty and I each participated in the scavenger hunt!

Gammy met us at the train station when we had finished touring the museum. Then we separated again. This time Dotty and Jim walked up to the Octagon and Mommy and I took our time. Looking in stores along the way. Mommy got an ice cream. Jim and Dotty showed up and then Jim and I took off one way, Dotty took off a second way, and Mommy sashayed back to the hotel. Well she may have walked or taken an Uber, only the shadow knows.

Dotty had been on tour in Ireland several years ago and had met Jenny McDonald. Jenny lives in Dunedin just down from the Fable. We met up with Jenny and her friends, Kade and Kelly for appetizers and dinner. Jenny lives in a beautiful apartment above the restaurant Impression.

We all ordered a dish to share and use the Lazy Susan to pass the dishes. After dinner was over, we went back upstairs to visit some more. It was truly an amazing evening with new friends and old!

Tomorrow we watch the Bills play and then Steve picks us up one last time to take us to the airport to fly to Auckland, where we begin our long journey home.
