A Culinary Journey

Today all 33 of us had a cooking class with Chef Anna and Chef Julia. We all had hands in preparing the meal we would eat just 3 hours later. Actually I think we were a little late preparing the food as the chefs kept getting called about when lunch would be done.

Our meal consisted of an appetizer of bruschetta, some homemade focaccia, a lasagna with homemade pasta, ragout, and a Béchamel sauce, a roast pork with Italian sausage, roasted potatoes, and finally a biscotti. Of course, we had the house wines: a rose and a chianti, and let us not forget the dessert wine!

Hotel Villa Casagrande has 2 different cooking classes: a Pizza & Pasta and a traditional Tuscan Lunch and yes we did create the traditional Tuscan Lunch. Because we were so many, we used recipes from both menus.

It was an experience! Rather than post the 1000s of pictures I took during the creating of our wonderful meal (after which some of us needed a little riposo or nap), I took the liberty of combining the pictures into a video and uploading to the youtubes.

May I just say:
