There was so much we wanted to do in Eastpoint: so many restaurants, so many places to visit. We haven’t been back since ’23 and Eastpoint had grown. Most of our time was spent sitting on the dock, or near the dock as there was a defining line of chilly wind between the dock and the yard; playing games; and just being!

Saturday came all to quickly, but never fear, more adventures await. We are off to Homosassa!

As lunch time approached, we were in a bit of a quandary, but could tell we needed to stop and stop soon. So we picked Bett’s Big T in Chiefland. Mommy remembers always driving past, but never stopping. Oh my! What food they had, and big portions too. Meat and 3 could have been meat and 2 with dessert, or meat and 1 with 2 desserts. Jim ordered sweet tea, I ordered unsweet, Mommy had the water. Then… we ordered the food!

We did not eat all our dinner, or lunch as the case may be and our tummies were not used to that kind of cooking anymore. That’s all we have to say about that lunch 🤣
Chiefland is only about an hour or so from Homosassa and it really took no time at all getting to our new location. The Apple Carplay was not talking to Jim’s phone, so I navigated. We really remembered the roads and easily found The Fish House~ our home away from home for the next few weeks. The sun was out, the weather was beautiful and the elevator/lift was a nice way to bring in our luggage/home goods.

Sunday morning and no place to go or be. Jim started coffee and went out on the dock. All of a sudden he appeared in the doorway saying a dolphin (porpoise?) was out in the water in front of the house. I got up, dressed, grabbed my phone, and headed to the dock. Little friend was swimming off toward another offshoot of the canal. The gnats were being gnatty. I headed inside for bug juice and my hat, came back to the dock, but still no joy….
Until at last!
